Community First

Border Construction Specialties formalized their employee driven charity program, Community First in 2005. The goal of Community First was to enhance the already generous giving of the company and increase community involvement and volunteerism with our employees by supporting the charities that are important to them and our customers.

The company has made an impact on over 30 charities in Arizona, Las Vegas and San Diego through volunteerism and monetary donations. Border employees, their families, friends and customers volunteer hundreds of hours each year to help support the local charities. Our recipients range from children, the homeless, victims of domestic violence, elderly persons and animals in need as well as donations to food banks, the environment and illness research.

Our scholarship program allows Border to award an educational scholarship each year to an employee or dependent of an employee. The recipient is eligible to receive the annual gift for four consecutive years of higher education. The Border Scholarship has paid out $11,000 in scholarship money to its recipients.

We listen to our community by listening to our employees.
